Local Bristolian, rail expert and author Paul Stanford will be at Bitton railway station on Wednesday, April 13, signing copies of his bestselling book, 50 Years of Railways around Bristol.

This book takes the reader on a journey from the late 1960s and the introduction of diesel locomotives to the present day, capturing the seminal moments in local railway development.

Stanford will be signing copies of his book for fans of this regional railway from 1400 to 1600 hours as part of the celebrations marking 50 years of what is now the Avon Valley Railway. Steam trains for the public will be running throughout the day during the book signing.
